Nice way

• locate the VM:

  vmware-cmd -l

• Shutdown the VM:

   vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes///.vmx stop

• Just turn the power off:

   vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes///.vmx stop hard

Nasty way

   ps auxfww|grep 
  kill -9
